Qualities of a Spiritual teacher (Guru)

Qualities of a Spiritual leader - Guru

A Spiritual Teacher

A Spiritual teacher is one who have a lot of experience of life's various problems, situations and must have a deep understanding about the same and have a clear perspective so that he could come to a solution to the problematic situation. If not even providing a solution, he is capable of clear understanding and vision of the situation to the effected person, so that he could himself deal with it.

Situations I am talking about, must have something common that have similarities with every individual person's life and experience. It means every one can relate his teachings to one's own life experiences (with an idea, may not be same completely). For this it is essential for the Spiritual teacher or leader to have some qualities, so that he can do this.

Qualities in a Spiritual Teacher

Some of the basic qualities of a Spiritual Teacher are the same which are also essential for everyone to life a better life. But most of us fail to acquire those qualities.

Basic qualities, must for a Spiritual Teacher

1. Leadership: Good Leadership quality is one of the basic quality in a spiritual teacher. A spiritual teacher will be followed by a large number of spiritual students, so good leadership skills will help him manage them.

2. Patience: Patience is an essential quality which will help the spiritual teacher while dealing with every student of spiritual field. Every student will be having a lot of queries and doubts, especially in spiritual field. So to handle their curiosity, a Spiritual teacher should be having good patience to deal with students effectively.

3. Perspective: A Spiritual teacher must have a clear perception of the life and the issues of life. This is so because a person is capable to give the solution of some problem, only if he have the complete facts about it. The facts will be obtained with the experience of one's own life, but a quality of perception should also be working with the experiences of life. Then only the Spiritual teacher will be capable of giving a clear vision about life and its problems to his students.

4. Less knowledge will do: Suppose if a Spiritual teacher has less knowledge about something, then also he is capable to become a Spiritual teacher. Why is it so? Think deeply, to know about some materialistic topic we can find a specialist of that topic easily. But a spiritual teacher is very different from all the other teachers. Spiritual teacher has to deal with real life issues and also with something which is away from the reach of a normal human's eye and thoughts.

So above mentioned 3 qualities will be more essential. But he must have done spiritual readings, not to increase his knowledge, but to sharpen the same 3 skills, which everyone of us should also do to make our life easier and happier.

Spiritual Awakening
