Currently, we are in the Kalyug (the Age of Darkness). The Yuga that is active at a given time also influences the people living in it. The four Yugas are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. These four Yugas together make one Maha Yuga (Great Age). As per scriptures and religious texts, Satya Yuga is the beginning phase of each Maha Yuga. In this Yuga, only those souls exist whose karma (actions) in the previous Maha Yuga’s Kali Yuga were very good.
