The Path to Spiritual Awareness: Transforming Life Through Consciousness

The Path to Spiritual Awareness: Transforming Life Through Consciousness Spiritual awakening and awareness can begin at any stage of life. Each person’s journey is unique, yet many aspects remain universal across all experiences. You may have noticed that some children develop an interest in God and devotion at a very early age. Others may discover this inclination during their youth, although they are fewer in number. Some people turn towards spirituality during old age, as they start to remember God while others seeking healing and resolve problems of life. Finally, there are those who remain inclined towards God from birth to death, completely absorbed in worldly pursuits. Spirituality at different age stages One important point to note is that the earlier the spirituality enters our lives, the purer our interest and sincerity tend to be. Children are born with genuine hearts—if they are taught good values and given the right knowledge early on, they can uplift themselves and their ...

The Eternal Cycle of Birth and Death: How to Break Free

The Eternal Cycle of Birth and Death: How to Break Free

Relation between Soul and Ages

We all know that the scriptures mention four Yugas (ages). Currently, we are in the Kalyug (the Age of Darkness). The Yuga that is active at a given time also influences the people living in it. The four Yugas are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. These four Yugas together make one Maha Yuga (Great Age).

As per scriptures and religious texts, Satya Yuga is the beginning phase of each Maha Yuga. In this Yuga, only those souls exist whose karma (actions) in the previous Maha Yuga’s Kali Yuga were very good. All other souls give up their bodies at the end of the previous Maha Yuga’s Kali Yuga during Pralaya (dissolution) and wait for rebirth in their next human form. Soul needs spiritual growth to free for which awareness is necessary and only then the soul can become Spiritually awakened.

The journey from Satya Yuga to Kali Yuga is a path from virtue to sin. This is a test for the souls. As the Yugas change, the amount of sin increases, and the test becomes harder. The soul that remains free from the influence of Maya (illusion) until the end of Kali Yuga and maintains its steadiness is called a pure soul and attains Param Dham Vaikuntha (the supreme abode). Such a soul is liberated, meaning it succeeds in this test and becomes free from the cycle of birth and death.

The Door of Liberation and Awakening

The human body is also called the door to awakening and liberation because the path to liberation becomes much simpler and closer when born as a human. The soul must keep itself away from sins, walk on the path of goodness, by which the soul’s impurities end, and through continuous remembrance of God, it becomes pure. It is only possible if one grow towards the path of Spiritual awakening.

Param Dham Vaikuntha, which is the ultimate and best destination of all souls, can only be reached by souls free of impurities and completely pure. This is why we all take birth in this mortal world to purify our souls through our actions.

The Greatest Challenge of Being Born as a Human

Among all souls from the beginning to the end of the Yugas, the ones who attain Moksha (liberation) through their karma and devotion to God are the successful ones. Other souls, due to their bad karma, have to wait for the next Maha Yuga or an even longer time to get their next human birth, which is entirely determined by their karma. The biggest challenge is that memory becomes dim and vague when a soul is born as a human. This memory becomes so faint that no soul in human form is aware of its true reality.

Now the question is, if nothing is remembered, how do we know what our life’s purpose is? The answer is already given. Remember, some good souls have been sent from the end of Kali Yuga to the Satya Yuga of the next Maha Yuga. It is the responsibility of these great souls to remind all souls born as humans during the entire Maha Yuga of their real goal. These great souls carry the Vedas, Shastras, scriptures, etc., from one Maha Yuga to another, ensuring that souls know their birth purpose and progress in their soul’s journey to succeed in reaching Vaikuntha.

Today, all this knowledge is available to us in the form of books—Vedas, Puranas, Shastras, Upanishads, etc., all are accessible, but we do not consider it necessary to read them. Our intellect, confused by Maya, does not let us proceed on the path of liberation. It repeatedly attracts us towards Maya. Even after repeated failures and disappointments, we don’t understand this simple truth—that the real purpose of our life is not to indulge in pleasures but to liberate our soul. Only then can human life be called successful. Otherwise, we see wealthy and successful people in this material world, but they also leave their bodies over time. Death is certain for all in this mortal world. So think: what true benefit is there in amassing wealth here?

Think, understand, and reflect on this simple truth as per your understanding—is our birth only meant to be caught up in the daily race and die one day, or is it to repeatedly gain liberation from this cycle of birth and death?
